Safety Compliance Officer

The Transportation DOT & Safety Manager role is responsible for managing the safety process for risk reduction, safety, environmental regulatory compliance, and DOT regulations at all our locations in the US.

This role will be responsible for partnering with Operations Leadership to assess the effectiveness of safety, environmental, and security policy/protocol efforts and assist with implementing strategies for continuous improvement.

-Support recruitment efforts and maintain compliance within the recruiting guidelines.

-Experience in dealing with Accidents and Insurance Claims.

-Flexibility to work as needed to answer accident calls during off-hours and weekends..

-Minimizes the safety risks through monitoring and acting on all insurance claims & loss reports, corrective actions, recommendations/deficiencies, and resolution reports.

-Assist with monitoring FMCSA scores, and develop and implement proactive programs of action to continually improve performance and address deficiencies

-Assist in the administration of the Federal Drug & Alcohol Testing Program

-Maintain and track Vehicle Inspection Reports

-Support the CEO and Operations Department in Safety related Issues.*

-Responsible for Fleet monthly records (DOT inspections, accidents, traffic tickets, and citations, etc.)

-Ensure DOT specific safety policies and procedures are managed.

-Recording of all vehicular employee accidents/incidents for determination of cause and preventability,

-Demonstrated effective adult training techniques, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, as well as the measurement of training effectiveness

-Strong analytical, leadership, teamwork and customer service skills as demonstrated by previous work experience

-Ability to prioritize tasks.

-Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.
